AILAW was recently involved in a seminar touching on workplace solutions in Japan. On August 22, 2019, Representative Partner Shinji Sumida had the pleasure of conducting a business seminar organized by the Business Research Institute in Tokyo. The 3 hour long presentation was titled “新時代のビジネス『DX（デジタルトランスフォーメーション）』への移行とリスク対策” (“Business for the New Era – Moving towards DX (Digital Transformation) and Risk Management”). Mr Sumida appreciated the audience’s attention and their engagement during the Q&A session.
The seminar explored the growing shift to a subscription based business model due to digitalization. A subscription based model is one in which a company pays another company for a product or service by making recurring payments. It also explained practical ways to improve business efficiency through better HR management and reduce dissatisfaction in a workplace.
