Japan-Kenya Agreement on Investment Protection

We are pleased to share the news that the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Kenya for the Promotion and Protection of Investment will become effective as of September 14, 2017.
This is one step forward in building a relationship between Japan and Kenya by providing protections and dispute resolution to Japanese businesses from sudden policy changes and acquisition of land without compensation.
Kenya is progressing in the automobile, building and food making industries. With this Agreement between the two countries, we see further encouragements to Japanese businesses in entering Kenya.
